We pride ourselves on being voted Southampton’s Community Pub of the Year 2008 and try hard to remain a friendly community style local where all the family, young and not so young are made to feel welcome.
Internally the three bar areas vary in size, shape and usage, the "Veggie Bar", or Public Bar is so called due to the users lack of luck in the weekly Sunday afternoon Meat Draw, it also has a large TV, Pool Table, Dart Board and Fruit Machine. The Snake-Pit is the debating area where discussion and wit, albeit it a little dim at times and definitely not for the shy.
The Lounge area is the family end of the pub where accompanied children are welcome to join adults in playing a game of Bar Billiards, the forerunner to Pool sadly rarely seen in pubs nowadays. Access via the lounge bar is to the large well stocked country garden, with a separate patio and heated smokers area, there is also a gated children's area.
A full menu including a choice Roast dinners is available every Sunday.
Other reasons to visit us include on the first & 3rd Saturday of each month we have Karaoke starting at 2100hrs and for our Friday Night Quiz nights. |
